FAQ
Please visit the following link for a detailed definition according to the HealthLink BC – https://www.healthlinkbc.ca/healthwise/learning-disabilities
Learning disabilities can be language-based, affecting reading, writing, and spelling, or numerical-based, impacting math skills and number processing. Dyslexia specifically refers to the language-based difficulties, and its severity varies from child to child. Children with dyslexia benefit from focused instruction in sound-to-symbol relationships, which helps them read and write more effectively.
If you have a child who has a learning disability, you may be able to deduct the cost of a tutor for after school lessons.
To do this, you will need a letter from a doctor stating that the tutoring is necessary. In addition, to qualify, the tutor must not be related to your child.
