Evidence-based Orton-Gillingham lessons help students strengthen reading, spelling, writing, math and comprehension skills.
Orton Gillingham
Using the Orton Gillingham tutoring approach, we have designed a multisensory program for students with learning differences. Our multisensory program involves utilizing the four learning pathways: hearing, seeing, touching, and scribing. Our belief includes working from simple to complex and strengthening the underlying concepts students struggle with. We place importance on discovery in learning, rather than memory.
Math Lessons
The Ministry of Education divides the mathematics curriculum into four broad categories:
number sense, patterns and relationships, shape and space, and statistics and probability.
Our mathematics tutors have a strong understanding of the expectations for each grade level. Through this understanding they design multisensory lessons, using the Orton Gillingham approach, to teach different mathematics units.
Like the English program, the math program is catered to the individual and his/her grade level.
English Lessons
Our objective is to improve penmanship, solidify sound to symbol relationships, and improve spelling and reading.
Our ultimate goal is for the students to achieve success in paragraph and essay writing and interpretation.
Our English Program is catered to people of all ages. It can be modified to be taught at the preschool level, and completely altered to be taught to adults as well
